Women's Basketball Bounces Back with Win over Palo Verde
CULVER CITY, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team bounced back with a 62-49 non-conference victory over Palo Verde College on Friday morning. This marked day one of the three-day Wild West Shootout, hosted by West LA College. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs (1-1) finished with a 40.6 percent showing from the field and managed to convert 24 Palo Verde (0-3) turnovers for 23 points on the other end. Coach Smith's squad continued to dominate inside after notching 42 rebounds and 40 points in the paint, but saw the charity stripe struggles continue with just a 30 percent finish at the free throw line.
Khaelii Robertson-Mack led the way with her second consecutive double-double of the season with a final tally of 25 points and 14 rebounds while also snagging seven steals. Bree Luna followed with a season-high of 19 points, which included a 3-for-5 showing from distance, and six steals. Anastasia Drolette rounded out the top performers with seven points and six rebounds.
Hancock will return to action on day two against the hosting Wildcats on Saturday, November 9th, at 5 PM.
