Women's Basketball Falls in Overtime at Cuesta, 58-53
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – In a closely contested women's basketball matchup at Stork Gym, Cuesta College edged past Allan Hancock College with a 58-53 victory in overtime. The game featured tough defense, clutch performances, and a battle for control that extended beyond regulation. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs (9-15, 4-4 WSC) started strong, taking an 18-9 lead after the first quarter. Cuesta (13-9, 4-3 WSC) responded in the second quarter with an offensive outburst, outscoring the visitors 15-7 while cutting the deficit to one by halftime. The teams remained neck and neck in the second half, with AHC holding a narrow 31-30 lead entering the final quarter. With the game tied at the end of regulation, Cuesta took control in overtime with a 9-4 advantage in the extra period.
Both sides shot roughly 31 percent from the field but the Bulldogs struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 3-of-17 three-point attempts (17.6%). Bree Luna and Khaelii Robertson-Mack led the scoring efforts for Hancock, combining for 24 points. Roberston-Mack also snagged a team-high of 10 rebounds while Katy Mathews hauled in eight.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Saturday, February 8th, at home against LA Mission College.
