Women's Golf Places Five in Top 25 at WSC #5

PALMDALE, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's golf team saw five athletes place in the top-25 of the individual standings after competing in the fifth Western State Conference (WSC) event of the season on Monday. Antelope Valley College hosted the tournament at the Rancho Vista Golf Course in Palmdale.

Moorpark College was the event winner after shooting 314, finishing just ahead of runner-up Santa Barbara City College (334) and College of the Canyons (350). The Bulldogs took fourth with a final tally of 379, followed by the hosting Mauraders who shot 442. Bakersfield College and Citrus College did not factor into team scoring.

Kariss Whitford led the way and landed in a tie for fifth place after carding 81. Phoebe Becerra (96) was next for the squad with a 17th place finish ahead of Kristina Whitmore and Vanessa Ramos who tied for 19th with a 101. Sofia Regalado round out the AHC performers in a two-way tie for 24th after posting a final score of 113.

Conference action will continue on Monday, Oct. 14, at the Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield.
