Hancock Women’s Soccer Takes Tough Loss on Road at Taft

Hancock College Women's Soccer suffered a loss in their season opener against Taft College, falling 2-5 on Friday, August 31st.

Taft College started the match strong, scoring the first goal of the game at the 20 minute mark in the first half and another unanswered goal at the 48th minute in the second half, going up 0-2.

Hancock Freshman Jennifer Perez, from Santa Maria High School, knocked in a goal for the Bulldogs, assisted by Freshman Diana De Leon from Nipomo High School.

The Cougars fired back with two more consecutive goals, bringing the score to 1-4.

The Bulldogs kept fighting as Sophomore Tatiana Silva, from Nipomo High School, scored on an unassisted goal.

However, one more goal by the Taft College Cougars sealed the deal, making it a final score of 2-5.

The Hancock Bulldogs look to bounce back as they host Citrus College in home opener on September 4th.
