Women's Soccer Snaps Skid with 6-1 Win at Cuesta

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer snapped a seven-game losing streak and picked up the program's first conference win of the season in a lopsided 6-1 victory over Cuesta College on Tuesday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

The win moves Hancock to 4-11 on the season while the Cougars fall to 4-7-2 overall. Both squads now hold a 1-5 record against league foes in the Western State Conference (North). 

The Bulldogs jumped out early in the contest and entered the halftime break with a 4-1 advantage. Raquel Schmid used a pass from Angela Gonzalez to put the visiting crew on the board before assisting Zorah Coulibaly just four minutes later on a goal of her own. Cuesta answered in the 34th, Janeth Davalos tacked on another score in the 35th. Ana Ponce ended the scoring frenzy just before time expired after converting a pass from Gabriella Pulido in the 44th.

Hancock scored twice in the second half with both goals coming in the final 10 minutes of action. Janelle Partida registered the first tally with an assist from Angela Gonzalez before Coulibaly netted her second goal after some help from Pulido. 

Allie Lemmon secured the victory in the box after a complete 90-minute showing, which included four saves. 

The Bulldogs will continue league action by hosting Santa Barbara City College on October 25th at the AHC Soccer Field, beginning at 4 PM.
