Bramble Wins Two Events, Bulldogs Finish Fourth at WSC Meet #2

Leanna Bramble won two events and finished second in a third event to help the Allan Hancock College women's swim team to a fourth place finish in Bakersfield during the second Western State Conference meet of the season on Friday.

Bramble won the 200 yard freestyle (2:00.66) by nearly two seconds before finishing first by three seconds in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:07.94). Nelson finished second in the 100 yard butterfly by less than one second (1:01.82).

Sarah Rayco-Rosado finished fifth in two events, while Bailey Nelson and Lindsey Martinez came in fifth in one event apiece.

Hancock earned a total of 64 points during the meet. The host Renegades won with 133 points, followed by Cuesta with 101 and L.A. Pierce with 99. Citrus finished fifth with 43 points.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, March 28, at the third conference meet of the season. Santa Barbara will host the five-way meet that also includes Santa Monica, Cuesta, Canyons and Hancock.
