Making a Splash: Bramble Wins 200 I.M. at WSC Championships

Leanna Bramble continued to make a splash at the Western State Conference Championships at Los Angeles Valley College on Friday. The freshman won her second individual title in as many races by taking the 200-yard individual medley. She broke her own school record with a time of 2:13.09.

The Orcutt Academy graduate won the 100-yard I.M. and broke her school record time on Thursday.

Sarah Rayco-Rosado finished 10th in the 200 I.M. with a time of 2:26.69, an improvement of one second from her time in the preliminary heats.

Hancock finished eighth in the women's 200-yard medley relay. The Bulldogs finished fifth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:49, which was a 10 second improvement from the team's previous-best time. 

Nearing the end of its inaugural season, Hancock is one of ten teams at the conference championships. Ten Bulldog swimmers are among the 126 competing in the three-day meet that ends Saturday. 
The Bulldogs sit in eighth place overall with 127 total points. Cuesta is first after two days with 576 points, while Bakersfield is second with 415 points. LA Valley is third with 414 points, followed by Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, L.A. Pierce and Ventura. Hancock is ahead of College of the Canyons and Citrus.
