Allan Hancock College freshman Leanna Bramble finished the inaugural season of the Bulldog women's swimming program with a seventh place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke final at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Swimming Championships in Monterey Park on Saturday.
The Orcutt Academy graduate was clocked in 1:07.49 seconds in the final, behind the winner Allison Gargalikis of Diablo Valley College, who finished in 1:00.71. Bramble earned 12 points toward the Hancock team score.
The only Bulldog competing at the State Championships finished with 23 total points during the three-day meet. The Bulldogs sat in 23rd place out of 48 teams after her event.
The three-time Western State Conference champion also finished 10th in the 100 yard individual medley and 13th in the 200 I.M. at the State Meet.
Head coach Mike Ashmore and the Bulldogs completed the first-ever season for the women's swim team. The Bulldogs finished eighth out of ten teams at the Western State Conference Championships earlier this month.
