Bio

Nelson finished 14th in the women's 100-yard backstroke (1:12.06) and 12th in the women's 1,650-yard freestyle (21:28.74) during the Western State Conference Championships as a freshman for Hancock. She won the 1,000-yard frestyle event with a school record time of 12:29.79 during a conference meet in Santa Barbara.  She received the most team spirit award last season for the Bulldogs.

Nelson graduated from Righetti High School. She played one year of golf and four years of water polo and swimming. She was named the Most Improved Player on her water polo team in 2013 and MVP in 2012.

Nelson is a film major who hopes to become a film director and producer. One of her passions is working with children. She coaches 5-10 year olds with the Santa Maria Swim Club and is a youth leader for teens at the Pacific Christian Center.
