Roux and Fraire Win Two Events, Lady Bulldogs Finish Third at WSC#3

Sophomore Kailey Roux and freshman Izzie Fraire won two events apiece to help the Allan Hancock College women's swimming and diving team to a third-place finish at the third Western State Conference meet of the season on Friday. L.A. Valley College hosted the five-team competition and finished first with 127 points. The Bulldogs earned 106 points.

Rioux won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events to earn 18 total points for the Bulldogs. The sophomore, who captured the conference title last season in the 3-meter event, also won twice during a conference meet earlier this month.

Fraire touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard backstroke events to collect 18 more points for the Bulldogs. The freshman won the 400 individual medley and 200 breaststroke events two weeks ago at WSC#2.

Sophomore Oceana Heath placed third in the 400 IM. The relay team of Fraire, Helen Frazer, Anika Smith, and Angel Landis finished second in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 8:56.

The Bulldogs will return to action April 4-6 at the three-day Pasadena Swim Invitational.
