Hancock Women Finish Sixth at WSC Coastal Meet

Aided by three top five finishes in events, the Allan Hancock College women's track and field team finished sixth during the Western State Conference Coastal Meet at Cuesta College on Friday.

Hancock finished with 16 points in the team standings. Ventura won the team title with 164.5 points edging the host Cougars by 6.5 points. Santa Barbara placed third (141), Santa Monica finished fourth (84.5) and Moorpark came in fifth (52). 

Freshman Ines Mendoua, a Cameroon native, finished fifth in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:10.61. Freshman Cassandra Bantz placed fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:17 before coming in fifth in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.59 meters.

Hancock's next conference meet is April 18 at the Western State Conference Prelims at the College of the Canyons at 1 p.m.
