Track & Field Concludes Season at State Championship, Olea Takes Second in Women's 10k
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field programs saw the 2024 season come to a close at the 3C2A State Championship, hosted by Saddleback College, over the weekend. Individual finishers placing in the top four of their event received All-American and First Team All-State recognition while those landing in 5th-8th picked up Second Team All-State honors. | FULL RESULTS
Itandehui Olea headlined the weekend with a runner-up performance in the women's 10,000-meter race with a final time of 36:37.95. This is believed to the be best time in program history, topping the previous record (40:11.53) set by Rachel Naugle in 2017. Olea also took fourth in both the 1,500-meter (4:45.64) and the 5,000-meter (17:40.52) events. She was joined by fellow Bulldog, Eva Luu, in the 1,500-meter race who took eighth with a final time of 4:51.28.
Nasim Moody, the lone representative at the state level for the men's program, wrapped up his junior college career with a fifth place finish in the long jump after recording a final mark of 7.03 meters.
As a team, the women landed in a tie for 14th place with Cuesta College after accumulating 19 points while the men finished in 31st with Moody's tally of four.
