Women's Volleyball Finishes Season with Five All-Conference Awards
    Five Allan Hancock College women’s volleyball team players received five All-Conference awards from the Western State Conference at the end of the 2009 season. Sophomore libero Anakela Francisco (Santa Maria, Ca) was named first team All-Conference for the second year in a row. She finished the season, ranked sixth in the state and third in the Western State Conference in digs with a 5.99 per game average. In total she had 479 digs during the season. 

    Allison Armstrong, a freshman and outside hitter, was named second team All-Conference. She had 156 kills and 21 aces for the season. She also had 270 digs, averaging 3.33 digs per game. She was joined on the second team All-Conference list by sophomore setter Staci McCracken (Santa Maria, Ca), who finished the season with an impressive 280 assists, 194 digs and 26 aces. 

    Two players, Miriam Malae (Lompoc, CA) and Danielle Rydberg (Nipomo, Ca), were named Western State Conference honorable mention. Malae, a sophomore setter, had 198 assists, 198 digs and 20 aces during the season. Rydberg, a freshman blocker, ended the season with 78 kills and 62 blocks.
