Women's Volleyball Seeks Second Straight Win, Travels to Defending WSC Champion L.A. Pierce

The women's volleyball team (1-4, 6-11) plays one match this week, a Wednesday conference match at L.A. Pierce (2-2, 10-7).

The Bulldogs snapped a six-match losing skid with a four-set win rival Cuesta College last Friday. Brianna Farley (Cabrillo HS) led the Bulldogs with 21 kills to go with 15 digs. Gabrielle Lecates threw down 16 kills and Nikki Friend (Cabrillo HS) dished out 40 assists. Rebecca Davis (Lompoc HS) had 24 digs, while Cristine Flores (Pioneer Valley HS) led the way with 26 digs. Hancock dropped the first set 25-18 before storming back to win the next three, 25-22, 25-22 and 26-24.

Farley leads the team with 210 kills and 235 digs, while Lecates ranks second with 185 kills.
Pierce is coming off a 3-0 win over Cuesta and 3-2 victory over L.A. Mission. The Brahmas are led by freshman outside hitter Autumn Russell (Templeton HS) who has 185 kills, followed by Jessica Martinez with 164 kills. Pierce has won four straight Western State Conference titles and captured state titles in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
