Women's Volleyball Set to Face Two Teams Ranked in the State's Top 20

Coming off a bye, the women's volleyball team returns to action with two conference matches against teams ranked in the Top 20 in California. The Bulldogs (1-5, 6-12) host second place Moorpark (5-1, 8-8) on Wednesday, the No. 19 team in the state, before traveling Friday to first place Santa Barbara (6-0, 15-4), the eighth ranked team in the California.  Both matches start at 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs pulled out the opening set at L.A. Pierce, the 22nd ranked team in California, last week before falling 3-1. Hancock fell 25-22, 8-25, 18-25, 18-25 to the Brahmas. Brianna Farley (Cabrillo HS) led the Bulldogs with 15 kills to go with 12 digs. Gabrielle Lecates added eight kills, while Cristine Flores (Pioneer Valley HS) added 17 digs, and setter Nikki Friend (Cabrillo HS) finished with 21 assists and 10 digs.

Hancock fell 3-0 to both Moorpark and Santa Barbara earlier this month. Moorpark starts the week winners of six in a row, while SBCC has won 11 straight.
