Hancock Volleyball Finishes Season Wednesday at No. 1 LA Pierce

The women's volleyball team (1-10, 4-18) ends the season this week against the top ranked team in California, L.A. Pierce. The Bulldogs travel to LA Pierce for a 6 p.m. game on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The Brahmas are tied for first in the conference standings at 10-1 and 25-1 overall. Their only loss was to Santa Barbara City College (10-1, 22-3), which ends the season on Wednesday at fourth place LA Mission.

Hancock dropped two matches last week, 0-3 at LA Mission and 1-3 at home to Cuesta College. Freshmen Taylor Nevitt (Nipomo HS) and Chyanne Thomas (Lompoc HS) led the Bulldogs with seven kills apiece against Cuesta, while sophomore Brittany Bolusan (Lompoc HS) paced Hancock with eight kills against LA Mission.  It marked the eighth time this season Bolusan had led the team in kills during a match. Nevitt has led the Bulldogs in kills 10 times, while Thomas has paced the squad in nine matches.

Overall, Thomas leads the team with 172 kills, while Nevitt has 70 and Bolusan has 144 kills. Sophomore setter Rebecca Davis (Lompoc HS) leads the team with 457 assists to go with 221 digs. Sophomore libero Cristine Flores (Pioneer Valley HS) leads the Bulldogs with 352 digs.
