Four Hancock Water Polo Players Score All-Conference Honors

After an 11-win season, four Allan Hancock College women's water polo players received all-conference recognition by Western State Conference coaches. Sophomore Shannon Copeland earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team. Freshman goalie Shay McMann and sophomore Ellyn Clardy, both Righetti High School graduates, were named to the second team. Sophomore Meagan Coyne received honorable mention.

Copeland, an all-conference second team pick as a freshman, led the Bulldogs this season with 50 goals. The native of South Africa added 22 assists and 26 steals. She finished her Hancock career the program's all-time leader with 115 goals and 60 steals.

McMann set a program single-season record with 236 saves in goal for the Bulldogs. The freshman tallied 38 steals and posted a save percentage of 48.4 percent. Clardy ranked third on the team this season with 28 goals and led the Bulldogs with 38 assists. She finished her Hancock career with 69 goals and 69 assists.

Coyne received all-conference honorable mention for the second straight year. She finished second on the team with 44 goals, 37 steals and 33 assists. Coyne's Hancock career ended with 97 goals and a program-record 99 steals.

Hancock finished 11-16 overall this season. The Bulldogs finished fifth at 2-5 in conference play under second-year head coach Dominique Miller.
