Cross Country Finishes Strong at Cuesta Invitational

The Bulldogs had a strong finish in their first cross country meet of the season, the Cuesta Invitational. Marina Cardoso (Santa Maria, CA) was the top finisher for Hancock on what Coach Louie Quintana called the toughest course that the runners will see all season. She finished 17th with a time of 22:24 on the hilly three mile course.
“Marina has been working really hard for the last few weeks and I’m happy with ther time,” Quintana said.
The men’s team finished sixth out of ten at the Invitational. Benito Camarillo (Santa Maria, CA) placed 19th with a time of 24:34. He was followed by Israel Ruvalcaba (Santa Maria, CA) (25:40), Adrian Enriquez (Santa Maria, CA) (27:25), Elias Flores (27:46) and Kevin Propst (Santa Maria, CA) (28:45).
The men’s and women‘s cross country teams compete in their first league meet in Oxnard on Friday, Sept. 24.
