Magana Finishes Successful Freshman Season with 107th -Place Finish at CCCAA State Championships

The successful freshman cross country season came to a close for Allan Hancock College's Brianna Magana with a 107th-place finish at the 2017 CCCAA Cross Country State Championships Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno. The freshman finished the 5K cou4se in 20:54.

College of the Sequoias' Alyssa Block won the individual state title with a time of 17:43. She finished 29 seconds ahead of the runner-up, Brenda Rosales of L.A. Harbor.

Mt. San Antonio won the men's and women's team titles. The Mt. SAC women edged Cuyamaca 93 to 95, while Ventura finished third with 103 points, followed by LA Harbor with 121 and Glendale at 147.

Magana was the first Bulldog to qualify for the state meet in eight years. This season, the Righetti High School graduate helped Hancock qualify as a team for the Southern California Regional Championships for the first time in nine years.
