Bio
Kayla George has been BOC certified since January 2011. She joined the sports medicine staff at Allan Hancock College in 2016, having traveled full circle since she was a student athletic trainer at Hancock nearly a decade before.
Kayla transferred from Hancock to Weber State, where she earned a dual bachelor’s degrees in athletic training and athletic therapy. During the pandemic, Kayla served as a member of the CCCATA state COVID working group whose goal was to help set standards for a safe return to athletics. During this time, Kayla also earned a master’s degree in mental health and wellness, in order to better support Hancock’s student-athletes. Prior to joining the Hancock staff, Kayla had worked at both the high school and college levels while also gaining experience in the physical therapy clinic setting.
Kayla is also a part-time faculty member teaching athletic training classes at Hancock and is a member of both the National Athletic Trainers Association, Far West Athletic Trainers Association, and the California Community Colleges Athletic Trainers Association.
