Eleven Bulldogs Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - After another outstanding year in the classrooms and on the playing surfaces, eleven Allan Hancock College student-athletes have earned CSC Academic All-District recognition for the 2023-24 academic year. The College Division is comprised of institutions from two-year and Canadian institutions and other institutions that are not affiliated with the NCAA and NAIA divisions, and Hancock was one of just three 3C2A schools to be recognized on the list of honorees at the two-year level across the state.

The Academic All-District Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must be sophomores both athletically and academically, hold a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and have been a starter or key reserve on their team. 

Honorees for basketball, football, soccer, and position players for both baseball and softball must have competed in 90% of the team's total games or started in 66% of the team's total games to be eligible for nomination. Pitchers must have tossed 25-plus innings or appeared in 17 games on the rubber. Nominees for golf must have competed in 70% of the team's scoring events while swimmers needed to compete in a minimum of four competitions or have at leat one top-eight finish for qualification. 

Danica Black headlined the list as a recipient for both women's golf and softball after meeting the qualification standards for both sports. Other Bulldogs to make the list include Tommy Kendlinger (baseball), Gavin Long (baseball), Nick Brown (baseball), Niko Pecskovszky (baseball), Assad Madassalia (men's basketball), Blake Cornelson (men's swimming), AJ Masunu (football), John Allen (football), Cynthia Ramirez (women's soccer), and Kollins Pettaway (men's track & field). 

Kendlinger, Long, and Ramirez have all been selected as finalists for the prestigious CSC Academic All-America Team award which will be announced in mid-July.
