SANTA MARIA, Calif. – The Allan Hancock College baseball program cruised to victory in a two-game sweep over Ventura College at home on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs move to 13-3 on the season (8-0 WSC) and extend their active win streak to 11 while Ventura falls to 7-9 on the season and 3-5 in conference play.

GAME ONE: HANCOCK 10, VENTURA 5

Ventura struck early in game one, but the Bulldogs responded with a pair of doubles from Jacob Ortega and Parker Haskell to plate three. The Pirates scored again in the second inning, but an error by the Pirates allowed two runners to score in the same frame. Haskell came through again for the Bulldogs in the third inning with an RBI single. Ventura plated one unearned run the fourth, but a two-run RBI by Jacob Ruley and a pair of sacrifice flies from Jeff Ray and Ortega led to a massive four-run inning for the Bulldogs. The Pirates closed out the scoring for both sides with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth frame.

Vander Hodges collected the win on the mound for the Bulldogs after sitting down two batters and scattering five hits through four innings of work.
