Travis Welker to Continue Play at Fresno State

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College baseball standout shortstop, Travis Welker, has committed to continuing his athletic career at Fresno State next season while pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. 

Welker, a graduate of Santa Ynez Valley Union High School, has collected numerous accolades during his stint with the Bulldogs as a two-time First Team All-Conference selection and two-time WSC Gold Glove recipient. He was also recognized as the 2021 Western State Conference Player of the Year and was named as a CCCBCA All-State honoree this season. At the plate, Welker boasts a .315 career batting average while totaling 87 hits, 68 runs, and 42 RBIs throughout his tenure. This season, Welker led the Hancock squad with 84 plate appearances and 10 stolen bases. He also finished the season with a .963 fielding percentage after notching 41 putouts, 64 assists, and 11 double plays.  

Fresno State is a Division I member of the NCAA and competes in the Mountain West Athletic Conference.
