Baseball's Christian Dijkman Commits to Wagner College

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Allan Hancock College pitcher, Christian Dijkman, has signed with Wagner College in New York to continue his academic and athletic career, beginning in the 2023-24 season. The Seahawks are a Division I member of the NCAA and compete in the Northeast Conference (NEC).

"I chose Wagner because the coaching staff showed me so much love from the get-go," Dijkman shared. "It was a very easy recruiting process and it means I get to fulfill my dream of playing baseball at the Division I level. I've also always wanted to play baseball on the east coast, so the decision was easy."

Dijkman, a Las Vegas native, is set to enter his second season on the mound for the Bulldogs this weekend. He appeared in six games and earned two starts as a true freshman last spring while striking out two batters through six innings pitched. Prior to joining the Hancock squad, Dijkman wrapped up a stellar senior campaign at Faith Lutheran High School with First Team All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention nods.

"My time here at AHC with our amazing coaches definitely prepared me for success at the next level. I couldn't have asked for a better group of coaches to be surrounded by every day," Dijkman added. "Coach Stevens and Coach Frapart have been there for me every step of the way and through all of the ups and downs. They've really taught me how to be a better man and a leader."

Dijkman and the Bulldogs are set to open the 2023 season with a two-day trip to College of the Sequoias, beginning on January 27th.
