Baseball: Bulldogs Thump Pierce, Extend Win Streak to Eight
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College baseball team walked to a 20-7 victory over LA Pierce College at John Osborne Field on Tuesday afternoon, extending the current active win streak to eight. The win moves AHC to a 13-6 mark against conference foes, placing them in a three-way tie for first place with Cuesta College and Santa Barbara City College. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs were hit by eight pitches and walked 20 times, which resulted in six runs, and benefited from a bases-loaded balk en route to the victory. Elijah Pascual led the home squad at the plate with a 4-for-5 showing that included nine RBIs and one double. Keelor Loveridge and Jeremy Camarena also finished with multi-hit performances after recording two knocks apiece.
Hancock got on the board early after Pascual and Loveridge each drove in one run in the opening frame, but saw the lead dwindle after the Brahmas plated two in the fourth frame. Pierce went ahead by one in the top of the fifth before the Bulldogs bounced back with a four-run effort in the bottom of the frame. The home crew went on to add 14 runs across the next three innings while limiting LAP to just two tallies in the top of the eighth.
Lucas Earle secured the win on the mound after allowing one earned run and scattering four hits through three innings of work. Nick Brown appeared for four innings of work after earning his 10th start of the season but did not factor into the final decision.
The Bulldogs are set to resume play on Thursday, April 20th, with a road test at Moorpark.
