Baseball: Bulldogs Hit Milestone with Win at Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College baseball team picked up a milestone victory after topping Oxnard College, 10-4, in a Western State Conference contest on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the program's 26th win of the season, a new high number for the Bulldogs since the 2010 season. The victory also moves Hancock to a 15-7 record against WSC foes, keeping them in the three-team battle for the conference title with Santa Barbara and Cuesta. | BOX SCORE

Both teams were scoreless through the first few innings until Elijah Pascual scored on an error by the Condors (9-27, 3-18 WSC) in the third to put the visiting squad on the board. Brayan Nunez added to the effort in the fourth with a solo homer, marking his third of the season, while Tommy Kendlinger scored on an error by the Oxnard catcher. Niko Pecskovszky and Isaiah Hernandez stretched the lead further in the sixth with a pair of doubles that combined for three RBIs before Oxnard managed to plate one run in the same frame.

Hernandez came through for the Bulldogs (26-12, 15-7 WSC) again in the top of the eighth with an RBI single, but the Condors responded with a three-run effort before the bottom of the frame came to a close. Hancock got the last word in the final inning after Pecskovszky used a double to drive home two runners before Jeremy Camarena plated one.

Nick Brown earned both the start and the win on the mound after six innings of work. He struck out three batters and was tagged with one earned run after scattering three hits. Christian Dikjman and Lucas Earle combined to close out the game over the final three frames.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to host Santa Barbara City College on Thursday, April 27th, in a high-stakes league showdown. Single-game tickets for the upcoming event, which is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM on John Osborne Field, can be purchased here. As per usual, the ticketing gate will be cashless and fans are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets prior to arrival, but credit/debit card purchases can be made at the gate.
