Gavin Long and Cooper Bagby were both recognized as Second Team All-Region selections for the Souther California region after a pair of solid sophomore campaigns that also included First Team All-Conference nods for the duo.
Long was tops for the team with a .349 batting average after going 60-for-172 at the plate. He notched 16 doubles, two triples, and one homer while tallying 23 RBIs and stealing a team-high of 11 bases this season.
Bagby put up impressive numbers for the Bulldogs on the mound while alternating between a starting pitcher and a closer throughout his sophomore campaign. The Ernest Righetti High School alum picked up seven wins and six saves through 20 appearances on the bump. He struck out 60 batters through 65 innings of work en route to a .242 batting average against mark and a 4.02 ERA.
The selection process is led by the ABCA Pacific Association Division All-America Committee, which is chaired by Chris Pedretti, President of the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA). Additional members of the committee include Terry Baumgartner (Feather River College), Larry Quirico (Northern California Commissioner of the CCCBCA), Mike Salazar (Rio Hondo College) and NWAC representative Mark Yoshino (Bellevue College).
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
