Next Level: Jeremy Camarena Commits to Oklahoma Baptist
SHAWNEE, Okla. - Allan Hancock College infielder, Jeremy Camarena, has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Oklahoma Baptist University next season.
"I chose Oklahoma Baptist because of their competitive nature to win games. They have had 41 consecutive winning seasons and are looking to continue the streak, which I'm excited to be a part of," Camarena shared. "It is a faith-based school, which is very important to me. God has given me the ability to play this game and I love and I am forever grateful for that. Not only do they push their players to be the best that they can be, but they push their athletes to be even better humans."
Camarena spent two seasons on the diamond for the Bulldogs while working towards a career average of .298 at the plate and a .371 on-base percentage. The St. Joseph High School alum was an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection as a freshman after a number of notable performances, including a walk-off RBI in a thrilling victory over Santa Barbara City College.
"My time at Hancock has helped prepare me for success at the next level because of the hard work that we put in day in and day out," Camarena added. "Coach Stevens and the staff here have built a great culture at AHC. The two years that I spent here have been a blast and I can't thank everyone involved enough for this experience."
The Bison are a Division II member of the NCAA and compete in the Great American Conference.
