Next Level: Blake Edgmon to Join Charleston Southern Roster
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - Allan Hancock College infielder, Blake Edgmon, has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Charleston Southern University next season.
"I chose Charleston Southern because of the tremendous amount of interest that Coach Kuhn has shown me," Edgmon stated. "The school is in a great area and I have heard a lot of really good things about the program"
Edgmon spent one season on the field with the Bulldogs after transferring to Hancock from Wabuonsee Community College. The Bakersfield native was a Second Team All-Conference selection and a WSC Gold Glove honoree at third base. Edgmon was tied for second on the team with a .405 on-base percentage and was fourth with a .307 batting average. He recorded 13 doubles, two triples, and two home runs to go along with 23 RBIs on 51 hits. The sophomore transfer had a .951 fielding percentage and was involved in 18 double plays with 163 total chances on the season.
"AHC and Coach Stevens have prepared me for success at the next level by helping me stick to a solid routine, getting me all of the help that I've needed with classes, and helping me get in the best physical shape for competition. The athletic trainers were also crucial for helping me stay healthy and on the field throughout the season," Edgmon added.
The Buccaneers are a Division I member of the NCAA and compete in the Big South Conference.
