NEXT LEVEL: Baseball's Austin Moccardini Heading to MACU
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Allan Hancock College pitcher, Austin Moccardini, will continue his academic and athletic career at the next level by joining the Mid-America Christian University roster next season.
"I chose MACU because I wanted to go somewhere with a winning culture and that's something that they could offer me," Moccardini shared. "I had some great conversations with the coaching staff there and it felt like somewhere that I could go play at and win at."
The Bakersfield native recently wrapped up his second season on the diamond in a Bulldogs uniform, earning himself First Team All-Conference recognition at the conclusion of his sophomore season. Moccardini picked up two wins and five saves while posting an ERA of 3.00 through 66.0 innings of action. He sat down 48 batters on the season en route to a total of 84 strikeouts throughout his AHC tenure.
"My time at AHC definitely helped me become a better player and a better person. Coach Stevens helped me so much and taught me a lot, both on and off the field, and I couldn't have asked for a better coaching staff here," Moccardini added. "Coach Stevens did an amazing job preparing us for what it will be like at the next level, and I feel ready for this next part of the journey."
The Evangels are a member of the NAIA and compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
