Football Players Move on to Four-Year Universities

Three Hancock offensive linemen have signed on to play football for four-year universities. Tyler Vogt will be attending Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas and James George has decided on Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jake Farley has already settled in at North Greenville University in Tigerville, South Carolina.

Vogt, a two-year starter for the bulldogs and Santa Ynez native, was a unanimous All-Conference selection at the end of last season. He also won the coveted Bulldog Award, given to the player who has most exemplified what it means to be a team player. George was voted lineman of the year by his fellow teammates at the end of the 2009 season.

Vogt and George, also a two-year starter, were an integral part of the offensive team that led the state in rushing yards in 2009, according to head coach Kris Dutra.

Farley is currently a guard for the North Greenville Crusaders, a NCAA Division II team. Farley was one of the first members of the line to receive a scholarship offer after the 2009 season ended. He left Santa Maria in December 2009 and has been thriving in South Carolina ever since. He’ll hit the field with his new team at the start of spring ball in April, 2010.
