Bulldogs Beat Vaqueros 51-6 in First Football Game of the Season

    Twenty eight seconds into the game and the Bulldogs led 6-0 and the team never looked back. Martell Crockett (Las Vegas) scored the first touchdown with a 72-yard run. Ryan Anglin (Santa Maria) scored four touchdowns, including a 87 yard run in the first quarter. Also on the scoreboard, Scott Cathcart (Santa Maria)with a 63-yard catch and Spencer Dudley (St. Charles) with a 39-yard catch. 

    Gavin Kelly (Santa Maria) started the game at quarterback for the Bulldogs and Seth Tripod (Paragould) took over at the half. In total, the Bulldogs had 653 yards on offense in 68 plays. Anglin led the team with 210 rushing yards. Crockett followed with 127. Kicker Jared Miller (Santa Maria) hit five out of six extra points and a 32 yard field goal.

    On defense, Favian Vargas (Lompoc) had 2.5 sacks for 18 yards. C.J. Simmons (Lompoc) had one interception and five solo tackles.
