
Former Bulldog Artis-Payne Scores Three Touchdowns, Auburn Runs Over San Jose State 59-13
Former Allan Hancock College All-American Cameron Artis-Payne set the tone for the Auburn in the Tigers' 59-13 win over San Jose State on Saturday night before a capacity crowd of 87,451 fans. The senior running back scored three touchdowns in the first half and broke the 100-yard barrier for the second straight week.
Artis-Payne scored on runs of two, five and one yard runs for the Tigers. It was the first time the former Bulldog has scored multiple touchdowns in a game for Auburn.
He finished with a game-high 112 yards on just 16 carries, an average of seven yards per carry. The Tigers finished with 358 rushing yard and six touchdowns via the ground against the Spartans.
Auburn (2-0) next plays at Kansas State on Thursday, Sept, 18, at 4:30 p.m. California time.
