
Francisco Mendez Named to All-California Team
Allan Hancock College offensive lineman Francisco Mendez has earned All-State honors. The sophomore was named to the All-California First Team Offense for Region III. The six-foot-six, 298 pound left tackle was one of 26 athletes voted onto the team from the Northern, Central and Southern Leagues by head coaches. The JC Athletic Bureau-California Community College Football Coaches Association released an All-American and four All-California Region Teams following the 2014 season.
Mendez was also named to the All-National Northern League First Team Offense. The New York native anchored the Bulldogs' offensive line this fall. He helped Hancock average 225 rushing yards and 393 total yards of offense per game. The Bulldogs finished the season 4-6 overall and 3-3 in conference. Hancock ended the season ranked No. 17 in the Southern California Regional Coaches Poll.
The criminal justice major redshirted the 2013 season. During the 2012 campaign, he helped Cameron Artis-Payne and the Hancock offense average 311 yards rushing per game.
