
Hancock Football Unveils 2015 Schedule, Includes Six Games Against 2014 Playoff Teams
The Allan Hancock College football team will play six teams that made the playoffs last fall during the 2015 season. Athletic Director Kim Ensing and Hancock football head coach Kris Dutra have announced the 10-game schedule. All 10 games will be played on Saturdays and the Bulldogs will play their five home games at Righetti High School in Santa Maria.
Dutra will enter his fifteenth season as head coach of the Bulldogs. He owns an 83-64 overall record and .565 winning percentage. The Bulldogs went 4-6 last season and finished fourth in the National Northern League.
Hancock opens the 2015 season at home on Saturday, September 5, against Santa Ana. The Bulldogs lost last season 28-26 to the Dons in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Santa Ana went 3-7 last fall.
The Bulldogs will play rival Santa Barbara City College for the 55th time on September 12, in Santa Barbara. Hancock lost 33-27 at home to the Vaqueros last season. SBCC is coming off a 7-4 season that included a postseason appearance. Hancock leads the all-time series 31-22-1.
The Bulldogs will welcome Chaffey into town on September 18. Last season, the Bulldogs beat the Panthers 26-24 in their first-ever meeting. Chaffey went 6-5 last fall, including a 23-10 loss to Bakersfield in the Clifford & Bradford Insurance Western State Bowl.
The Bulldogs will open conference play in Bakersfield on September 26. Hancock defeated Bakersfield last season 20-17 behind a 161 passing yards from quarterback Curry Parham and field goals of 48 and 50 yards from freshman Jose Morales. The Renegades went 7-4 last year, including a 4-2, third place finish in the National Northern League. Hancock trails in the all-time series 6-18.
After a bye week the first weekend of October, the Bulldogs return to action on September 10, with a non-conference game at Long Beach. The Vikings went 9-2 last season, including a 31-21 win at Hancock and a 75-41 victory over Golden West in the Beach Bowl. The Bulldogs will go for their first win over the Vikings in six meetings.
The Bulldogs will play back-to-back home conference games on October 17, against Cerritos and October 24 against Canyons. Both games are set to start at 4 p.m. at Righetti High School. Cerritos defeated Hancock last fall 19-12 and ended the season 8-3, including a 22-19 win over Santa Barbara in the Golden State Bowl. The Bulldogs are 0-9 all-time against Cerritos.
Canyons beat Hancock 37-20 last fall. The Bulldogs and Cougars finished last season with identical 4-6 records and fourth place finish in league. Canyons holds the edge in the series 17-10-1.
Hancock travels to Pasadena to battle the Lancers on October 31 for a 4 p.m. game. The Bulldogs dominated Pasadena 52-14 last fall. Pasadena went 2-8 during the 2014 season. Hancock leads the all-time series 5-2.
