Kicker Jordan Pollard Named League's Special Teams Player of the Week by SCFA
Sophomore kicker Jordan Pollard has been named the Special Teams Player of the Week in the Pacific League of the Southern California Football Association. The week-eight honor is the first won by a Hancock football player this season.
Pollard made both of his field goal attempts, and converted four point-after-touchdowns in Hancock's 46-7 win over L.A. Valley, the defending league champion. The sophomore hit 26- and 27-yard field goals in the second half giving him eight field goals this season. Pollard also averaged a season-best 43.3 yards per punt, including a season-long 61-yard punt to continually bury the MOarchs deep in their own territory.
At 2-0 in league play and 5-2 overall, the Bulldogs are tied for first with Antelope Valley in the Pacific League standings. Hancock is ranked No. 23 in this week's state poll. The Bulldogs play at L.A. Pierce on Saturday, October 28, at 4 p.m. Pierce is 1-1 in league and 3-4 on the season.
