Bulldogs Football Picked to Host 2022 Strawberry Bowl

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - After claiming a share of the National Northern League crown more than a week ago, the Allan Hancock College football team has been selected to host one of the six Southern California Football Association (SCFA) bowl games across the state set to take place this weekend. 

The Bulldogs will be hosting the 2022 James H. Cobb Family Strawberry Bowl on Saturday, November 26th, on the AHC Football Field. They will showdown against Moorpark College, a team that finished second in the American-Pacific Conference while boasting an overall record of 6-4 on the season. 

Saturday's game will mark the 20th bowl game on record and the first postseason appearance since 2019 for the Bulldogs. In 2019, Hancock was the victor in a matchup against Mt. San Jacinto for the SCFA American Championship Bowl. The Raiders will make their 21st bowl appearance on record and first since defeating Santa Barbara City College in the 2016 Beach Bowl.

This will also be the 34th meeting between the two programs, dating back to their first face-off in 1971. Hancock currently holds the all-time series record, 17-16, with the two teams last competing against each other in 2015.

The game is set to kick off at 1 PM on the Santa Maria campus and gates will open at noon. Tickets are currently available for purchase on the ahcbulldogs.com/ticketing website or can be purchased at the ticketing gate with a debit or credit card. Per the CCCAA and SCFA guidelines, ticket prices are as follows: Adults - $12, Students - $8, Senior Citizens - $8, and Children (6+) - $8. Children under the age of six receive free admission. Please note that the ticketing gate is cashless and that season and/or conference passes are not valid for postseason events. Animals, other than service animals, are not permitted at the venue.
