Football: Sixteen Bulldogs Garner All-League Honors, Damron Tabbed as National Northern League Co-Coach of the Year

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - After a solid showing for the program in the National Northern League, the Allan Hancock College football team garnered 16 All-League selections while Seth Damron was tabbed as the Co-Coach of the Year. | FULL LIST

Damron, in his second official season at the helm of the program and fifth overall with AHC, led the Bulldogs to a share of the conference title in a three-way tie with Ventura College and College of the Canyons. The Bulldogs also topped Moorpark College in overtime at the 2022 James H. Cobb Family Strawberry Bowl, securing the program's third bowl title in five seasons. 

Saipale Fuimaono, Jaleel Walker, Latrell Brown, and Raymond Paulo led the way for the offense after collecting First Team All-League recognition.

Fuimaono, a freshman from American Samoa, saw action in all 11 games this season and served as a primary pillar for the Bulldogs' offensive line.

Walker led the core receiving group for the Bulldogs this season with 899 yards through the air on 50 receptions en route to eight touchdowns. The Arizona native averaged 81.7 receiving yards per game, ranking him fifth amongst all SCFA wide receivers in the state, while his final total of 899 placed him at 3rd in the state. 

Brown, who served as a linebacker last season, was tops for Hancock's slew of rushers this season. The sophomore out of North Carolina after 67.4 rushing yards per game, ranking him 10th across all competitors in the SCFA. Brown ended the season with six touchdowns and 741 yards on the ground. 

Paulo received his recognition in the utility slot after spending time on both sides of the ball. The Pago Pago native notched 413 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns on the season while also recording nine tackles and one sack. 

Andrew Lauritzen was the lone member of the Hancock squad to claim first team honors for the defense. The sophomore defensive end tallied 51 tackles and forced two fumbles on the season while also registering 6.5 sacks, a number that ranks him at No. 12 in the SCFA. Lauritzen was also honored as a First Team All-League and Region III First Team All-State honoree at the conclusion of the 2021 campaign. 

Chase Richards, Alex Sutton, and Jenaris Clay snagged Second Team All-League titles on the offense list.

Richards, a returning piece of the puzzle for the Bulldogs' front line from last season, appeared in all 11 games as an offensive lineman. 

Sutton, an Orcutt Academy alum and freshman tight end, finished the season with 106 on 11 catches.

Clay, also honored as a tight end, closed his freshman campaign with 143 yards and three touchdowns.

Jesse Garza, Jordan Fields, Devin Guggia, Ronald Fuselier, and Sidney Jefferies were named to the Second Team All-League list on the defensive side of the ball. 

Garza, a sophomore inside linebacker from Nipomo, led the team after being credited with 72 total tackles and three forced fumbles on the season. His tackle tally places him at the No. 9 slot amongst all participants in the SCFA. The Nipomo High School alum was also a Second Team All-league selection last season.

Fields, a graduate of Ernest Righetti High School, ranked second on the team with 64 tackles during his sophomore campaign. He also totaled three sacks and had 11.5 tackles that forced a loss of 54 yards. 

Guggia, a local native and sophomore outside linebacker, finished the season with 37 tackles while also securing three interceptions and recording two pass breakups. 

Fuselier, also a two-time All-League selection from Georgia, closed out his sophomore campaign with 22 tackles and led the team with 12 pass breakups as a cornerback. 

Jefferies, a sophomore safety out of Indiana, led the team and ranked third in the SCFA with five interceptions on the season that were returned for a total of 107 yards. He also registered 40 total tackles, placing him fifth amongst teammates. 

Vic Garnes, PJ Mauigoa, and Deounta Cromity rounded out the list of honorees as Honorable Mention selections.
