Football's Devin Guggia Commits to Nebraska-Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb. - Allan Hancock College football outside linebacker, Devin Guggia, has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at Nebraska-Kearney University next season.

"I chose Nebraska-Kearney because they have a great football program and educational program with a lot of support from the community," Guggia shared. "The coaches did a great job of getting me information, recruiting me, and just being persistent."

Guggia, a local Santa Maria product, wrapped up his final season with the Bulldogs in the fall. The St. Joseph High School alum finished the season with 37 tackles while also securing three interceptions and recording two pass breakups. He was tabbed as a Second Team All-League selection at the conclusion of the regular season. Guggia ends his time at the junior college level with a final tally of 61 tackles through 17 games with AHC.

"Going to Allan Hancock teaches you how to grow it. It makes you learn how to balance life, sports, and school," Guggia added. "On the football side, we learn a lot of fundamentals like 'through the line' and 'always have the toes behind the line'. There is a real competitive nature when it comes to stepping on the field as a Bulldog when it comes to practice time and game days."

Nebraska-Kearney is a Division II member of the NCAA and competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
