Football: Fifteen Bulldogs Garner All-League Honors, Harris & Aguilar Claim Superlatives

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - After earning a share of the National Northern League title for the second consecutive season, the Allan Hancock College football team garnered 15 All-League selections while picking up two superlative awards. 

Rick Aguilar was tabbed as the Co-Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs through a stellar turnaround season in his first year at the helm of the program. Aguilar's squad started the fall with a 1-3 mark before turning the slate around with six straight wins to close out the regular season campaign. 

Caden Harris was honored as the Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-League selection after a stellar freshman showing. The Las Vegas native notched 125+ rushing yards for the seventh consecutive game en route to his 17th rushing touchdown of the season. He currently leads all competitors in the SCFA in rushing touchdowns and rushing yards per game (129.3).

Leo Togia, Saipale Fuimaono, Joey Garza, and AJ Masunu joined Harris as First Team All-League selections on the offensive side of the ball. 

Togia (C) and Fuimaono (OL) were selected after playing critical roles for Hancock's offensive line. This marks the second consecutive First Team nod for Fuimaono, who was also honored as an offensive lineman last season at both the conference and state levels. 

Garza (TE) currently holds 57 receiving yards and one touchdown catch.

Masunu was selected as an offensive utility athlete after transitioning to the fullback position. He has registered 156 rushing yards on 22 carries.

Dearion Prothro, Keyshawn Pu'a, Trent Kimmel, and Makai Puga picked up First Team nods on the defensive end. 

Prothro (DT) has tallied nine sacks, ranking him 8th in the state, while totaling 13.5 tackles that forced a loss of 85 yards. 

Pu'a (ILB) leads the program with 60 total tackles on the season and has registered one interception and one fumble recovery. 

Kimmel, who received the honor as a defensive utility player, is ranked 9th at the SCFA level with nine pass breakups thus far. He has also recorded 29 tackles, one 34-yard interception, and forced one fumble after a sack. 

Puga (KR) has tallied 1,023 kickoff return yards on 36 attempts throughout the regular season. He averages 28.4 yards per return and has notched two touchdowns on returns.

Hancock tight end Alex Sutton joined three members of the offensive line -  Casey Fuaau, Peko Leasiolagi, and Makai Sat - on the Second Team All-League. Brodee Tucker and Adarius Odom rounded out the AHC honorees with Second Team All-League titles for the defense.
