Next Level: Saipale Fuimaono Heading to San Diego State

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Allan Hancock College football offensive lineman, Saipale Fuimaono, will continue his academic and athletic career next season at San Diego State University.

"I picked San Diego State for several reasons. I believe in the new coaching staff and I believe that they will take me and the team to the next level," Fuimaono shared. "Another reason that led me here is that it will be closer to my family. I do this for them, and to see my family in the stands watching me play Division I football will be a dream come true."

Fuimaono, a product of American Samoa, spent two seasons in a Bulldogs uniform where he was a two-time All-State honoree. Last fall, he became the fourth member of the program (on record) to receive back-to-back First Team All-State honors over the last decade at any position since defensive end Andrew Lauritzen ('21 & '22), tight end Jerome Afe ('18 & '19), and running back Cameron Artis-Payne ('11 & '12). The offensive line pillar was also a two-time First Team All-League selection.

"My time at AHC was definitely a great experience. I came here right after graduating from high school and it was the right decision. The coaching that I got from the staff really improved my game. I also had my family away from family there to help me push through any obstacles that stood in my way," Fuimaono added. "I really had an amazing time at Hancock and being at AHC really gave me the opportunity to be in the situation I am in today. I want to extend a special thank you to the amazing coaching staff, the brothers that I've made here, the athletic trainers, and all who have helped me at AHC. They are the reason I am where I am today."

The Aztecs are a Division I member of the NCAA and compete in the Mountain West Conference.
