Next Level: Peko Leasiolagi to Join Pitt State Roster
PITTSBURG, Kan. - Allan Hancock College offensive lineman, Peko Leasiolagi, has signed on with Pittsburg State University to continue his academic and athletic career next season.
"I chose Pitt State because they have a strong football program and they are giving me an opportunity to play center on a competitive team," Leasiolagi shared. "The school spirit and the supportive community here felt like a perfect fit for me. Plus, I loved the idea of being able to go somewhere that I can grow both academically and athletically."
Leasiolagi, a native of American Samoa, spent two seasons on the field for the Bulldogs. As a sophomore, he picked up a Second Team All-League nod on the offensive side of the ball after helping Hancock secure a second consecutive share of the National Northern League title.
"My time at Hancock and with the football team really set the foundation for me. It taught me discipline, teamwork, and the importance of hard work which will all be crucial for me at Pitt State," Leasiolagi added. "The competitive experience that I gained at AHC definitely prepared me to take on new challenges at the NCAA level and I think that it will help me excel as part of this new team."
The Gorillas are a Division II member of the NCAA and compete in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
