Football Thumps East LA in Home Opener
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College football team opened the home slate by defeating East LA College in a lopsided 40-27 victory on Saturday afternoon at the AHC Football Field. | BOX SCORE

QUARTER 1: AHC 13 | ELAC 14
Salofi Leasiolagi forced a fumble on the Huskies' opening drive to give Hancock the ball early in the first quarter. The Bulldogs used a series of short rushes and one completed pass from Drake Missamore to Makai Puga to build a scoring drive that ended with a three-yard scramble by Anthony Tucker. He doubled the deficit for East LA on the next possession with a six-yard scurry through the goal line.
The Huskies managed to get on the board with under two minutes to go after a seven-play drive that spanned 65 yards ended with a one-yard rushing touchdown. They managed to briefly take the lead just before time expired with a strip sack that was returned for a touchdown with 46 seconds to go in the first frame.
QUARTER 2: AHC 20 | ELAC 0
The Bulldogs put the game out of reach in the second quarter with three unanswered touchdowns before halftime. Caden Harris started things off after breaking free for a 46-yard streak to score.
A few drives later, an interception by Nayshawn Corley would give AHC the ball near midfield after the turnover. Hancock capitalized on the possession with a 56-yard touchdown pass from AJ Vele to Roling Davis.
The final score came in with one second remaining on the clock after Justyce Roserie pounced on a fumbled punt attempt by ELAC that rolled into the end zone.
QUARTER 3: AHC 7 | ELAC 0
Hancock scored the lone touchdown of the third frame after building a 12-play drive that spread 80 yards and ate nearly seven minutes of time off of the clock. Tucker and Harris alternated rushing attempts throughout the possession, which was briefly highlighted by Tucker's 48-yard stretch that was called back due to offensive holding. Eleven plays later, the North Carolina native would find a way to notch his third tally of the day with a five-yard sprint to the end zone.
QUARTER 4: AHC 0 | ELAC 13
The Huskies struck early in the final quarter after gaining possession by way of a forced fumble before completing a 19-yard touchdown pass. Their final drive of the day covered nearly the entire field as ELAC rattled off eight plays in two minutes to score as time expired.
