
Football Tops SBCC in Lopsided League Win, 56-7
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College football program bounced back with a dominating 56-7 National Northern League victory on the road against Santa Barbara City College on Saturday evening. AHC now holds a 39-24-1 advantage for the all-time series record, dating back to the first meeting between the two teams in 1956. | BOX SCORE
AJ Vele had a day after posting a perfect 11-for-11 completion rate while registering 195 passing yards and tossing four touchdowns. He led the way for an extremely efficient showing by the Bulldogs on third down as the squad went on to convert five of their six attempts (83%) while putting up 560 yards of total offense as a unit.

QUARTER 1: AHC 21 | SBCC 0
Hancock scored on the opening drive of the evening after a series of rushes and a 42-yard completion from Vele to Makai Puga quickly moved the visiting squad downfield. That effort came to a close just four snaps later when the duo linked up for a six-yard completion in the end zone.
After forcing a Vaqueros punt on the ensuing drive, the Bulldogs built a second consecutive scoring effort that spanned 75 yards after nine plays. That segment was highlighted by Vele's 37-yard rush and ended when the Santa Barbara native connected once more with Puga for a 13-yard touchdown.
Jack Gentile brought the ensuing possession to a close early for SBCC after collecting an interception and registering a 33-yard return. Anthony Tucker continued that momentum just one snap later with a 33-yard streak past the goal line.
QUARTER 2: AHC 14 | SBCC 0
The Vaqueros threatened to break the scoring drought early in the second frame, but saw a 35-yard field goal try miss wide and to the left. Hancock answered on the following drive with nine plays that covered 78 yards and ended with a five-yard rush by Caden Harris.
Hancock marched into scoring position once more before time expired in the first half after a 30-yard rush from Harris and a 32-yard catch by Puga. That effort ended with a one-yard scramble to score by Tucker with 15 seconds to go.
QUARTER 3: AHC 14 | SBCC 7
Play resumed after the break with a quick turnover after Justyce Roserie secured an interception near the red zone for the visitors. Coach Aguilar's crew converted the prime fielding position with a series of short rushing tries by Semaji Carmichael and a 17-yard touchdown completion from Vele to Daylan Letisi.
The Vaqueros managed to score their lone touchdown of the game on the ensuing possession after benefiting from a pair of hefty AHC penalties that totaled 43 yards.
Hancock's final drive of the quarter, which was highlighted by a chunky run play by Ben Walz and a 30-yard completion to Mark Pullman, also ended in the endzone when Vele connected with Jorge Avalos for a five-yard scoring snag.
QUARTER 4: AHC 7 | SBCC 0
Hancock's final score of the game came with just over five minutes remaining in regulation after Carmichael, Walz, and Ryder Scheid, and Adrian Mondol rotated through rushing attempts en route to a 10-play drive. That effort came to an end with a four-yard touchdown pass from Drake Missamore to Pullman in the end zone.
