The Arroyo Grande native was named as both a First Team All-American and First Team All-State (Region III) selection for his production on the offensive end. He hauled in a total of 1,146 receiving yards through 10 games played. This number replaced the previous record of 1,104 yards set by Shane Henderson back in 2011 after an 11-game season. Puga also finished just one touchdown shy of the current AHC receiving touchdowns bar, totaling 11, and racked up 1,812 all-purpose yards through 10 games. His average of 114.6 receiving yards per game ranks him second among all 3C2A competitors. Puga was a unanimous First Team All-League selection as a wide receiver in the National Northern League.
The Bulldogs closed the season with an overall record of 6-5 after making their third consecutive bowl appearance and 23rd postseason qualification in program history. They finished tied for fourth place in the conference standings with a 4-3 tally against National Northern League foes.
