Bio

Pope enters his eight year on the Hancock coaching staff, including the last seven in charge of the team's strength and conditioning program.  After overseeing defensive backs for years, Pope will be in charge of the receivers in 2015. Prior to Hancock, Pope was the head football coach at his alma mater, Santa Maria High School.

Pope is a part-time instructor at Hancock. He is also in his third year as the physical education teacher at El Camino Junior High School.  He played football at Moorpark College and at Hancock before graduating with a bachelor's degree in sociology from San Jose State University.  He and his wife, Lucy, have two kids, Malik, a member of the 2015 Hancock football team, and Tyana.
