Hancock Men's Basketball Announces Spring and Summer Youth Clinic Dates

Allan Hancock College men's basketball head coach Tyson Aye has announced the spring and summer schedule for youth clinics as part of the Hancock Youth Basketball Club. The clinics are intended for children eight to 17 years old. All sessions will take place in Joe White Memorial Gymnasium on Hancock's Santa Maria campus.

"We want to keep infusing the community with excitement about basketball and Hancock," said Aye, who recently completed his third season as head coach of the Bulldogs. "Last year, more than 100 area kids attended our clinics and played in our fall league. We want the tradition of kids playing and watching basketball in our gym year-round to continue."

Aye, his coaching staff and players will teach kids of all skill levels the basics of the game and further develop their skills.

The club will host spring skill development clinics on Tuesday evenings from April 12 through May 10. The spring clinics run from 6:30-8 p.m. The cost is $20 per session, or $70 per child for all five spring clinics.

The spring clinics will also serve as tryouts for the Hancock Youth Basketball Club's travel teams called the 'Lil Bulldogs. The club teams are coached by Hancock coaches and compete in tournaments throughout Southern California in May and June.

The Hancock Youth Basketball Club will also host a pair of four-day summer clinics. They will run Monday, August 8, through Thursday, August 11, as well as Monday, August 15, through Thursday, August 18. The summer sessions will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost for a child to attend a session is $85. Make checks payable to AHC Men's Basketball.
