
Hancock Men Rout San Diego Mesa 82-56 at Cuesta Tournament

Kevawn Lord scored a career-high 20 points to lead four Bulldogs in double digits as the Allan Hancock College men's basketball team defeated San Diego Mesa 82-56 during day two of the Cuesta Tournament on Saturday. The Bulldogs improved to 9-10 overall, and the Olympians fell to 3-13.
Lord erupted for 11 points, and Marcellus Garrick added nine in the first half to help the Bulldogs carry a 43-21 lead into halftime.
On top of Lord, Deon Whiteside added 16 points, 14 of which came in the second half. Dominic Jackson added 12 points fueled by an 8-for-10 effort from the free-throw line. Garrick finished with 13 points.
Nolan Willett added seven points and Troy Bolden finished with six points for Hancock.
The Bulldogs made 23 of their 33 free throw shots overall, or 70 percent.
Hancock will close the three-day Cuesta Tournament on Sunday with a 3 p.m. contest against El Camino.
