Red-Hot Hancock Men's Basketball Enters State Rankings at No. 16

Winners of five straight games, the Allan Hancock College men's basketball team climbs into this week's state and regional ranks. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 16 in the California Community Colleges Men's Basketball Coaches Association Top 20 poll. Hancock also soared to No. 8 in the Southern California Regional. Hancock was ranked No. 14 in the region in early January.

The Bulldogs knocked off previously-ranked No. 17 Ventura 96-94 in overtime last Saturday to enter a tie for first place in the Western State Conference standings. The Bulldogs are 5-1 in league and 18-8 overall. This week, Hancock visits Moorpark at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, before hosting Santa Barbara City College at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

After falling to Hancock, Ventura dropped one spot to No. 18 in the state poll and No. 9 in the regional rankings. The Pirates host Cuesta on Wednesday and Moorpark on Saturday.
