After nearly two weeks off from competitive play, Hancock Men's basketball returned in grand fashion, beating West Hills Lemoore 104-66.
Hancock hosted the Golden Eagles in their home opener earlier this season, winning 100-40 but this time they traveled to Lemoore.
From tip-off it seemed as though it would be an easy repeat from the first game. The Bulldogs jumped to a 28-17 lead early in the first haf.
That lead was stretched to 33-17, highlighted by a fast-break when the ball was passed four times without touching the floor and finished off by a monstrous dunk by sophomore forward Trenton Mitchell.
The pesky Golden Eagles played solid half-court defense and hit a number threes to stay close. The Bulldogs led 50-39 going into the half.
From the start of the second half, the Bulldogs press proved to be too overwhelming for the Golden Eagles. Steals and turnovers resulted in a 30-5 run, blowing the lead wide open.
13 of the 14 Bulldogs players contributed in the scoring column, with four players finishing in double-figures. JT Riddick led the charge with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Spirit Ricks added 14 points. Glenn Jordan and freshman forward Tasson Thomas both chipped in with 11 points each.
This Saturday, the #5 Bulldogs will host #3 Cerritos College for a match-up between two ranked squads. Both teams share identical records of 7-1. Tip-off is at 5pm at Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
